This saves thousands of hours of work, because you don't have to cut each piece on its own. However, adapting the architecture blue-print to an architecture scale-model, creating the parts, creating the molds, trimming the parts, and putting them all together, all still need to be done by human hands. No one has sussed out a way to automate the technique.

I am thankful that they haven't figured out a way to take the individual crafts-men away from the architectural scale model. This job is a dream come true, and I am glad it cannot be done more effectively by equipment. I think it will be a very long time before anybody puzzles out another way to do it. If it were a matter of assembly line manufacturing architecture scale miniatures, it would be a different story. You could make one design and have it created by a machine. But each architecture scale model is custom ordered, and so each must be custom-made.
